Stroke is a leading cause of death and permanent disability for women. Statistically, one in five women between the ages of 55 and 75 will experience a stroke. Currently, stroke kills about twice as many women as breast cancer each year. Stroke symptom awareness and preventative care is absolutely critical for senior women. We will hear from:
Mark Ritter, CHT, OTR/L, Certified Hand and Occupational Therapist, noted educator of master's and doctoral students, is highly experienced in all phases of stroke awareness and stroke rehabilitation
Sushant Kale, MD, Vascular Neurologist and stroke specialist, is with the Abrazo Arrowhead Stroke Center
Courtney Hrdlicka, MD, Vascular Neurology specialist, Mayo Clinic
We will take a look at the art and history of Native American jewelry, the impact of tourism on the development of jewelry making. We hope to have a speaker from the Museum of Northern Arizona to present, as well as experts on Native American jewelry.
