Snack Packs for School Children May 16, 2024 On Thursday, May 16, Sedona Women helped Manzanita Outreach as it seeks to become the first food-secure county in the nation. Some volunteers helped fill healthy snack packs that will then be for distribution to school teachers throughout the community to provide snacks for their students who come to school without breakfast, and others packed food for the weekly food sharing program. |
Oak Creek Cleanup April 23, 2024 Thank you Sedona Women for the amazing Oak Creek Clean up, Tuesday, April 23. Twelve volunteers did a great job picking up trash at several locations in the canyon and helping our Oak Creek watershed stay healthier. |
St. Andrews Community Dinner March 11, 2024
The Sedona Women hosted the March 11 community dinner at St. Andrews Church. Fifteen volunteers prepped, cooked, served, and cleaned the kitchen. The meal was chicken à la king, roasted broccoli, seasoned corn, roasted potatoes, green salad, and fruit salad. We served about 70 dinners between dine-in, second and third helpings, and carry-out dinners. |
St. Andrews Community Dinner January 15, 2024 TSW hosted the January 15 community dinner at St. Andrews Church. We were well represented, with 16 volunteers who cooked, served, and cleaned the church kitchen. Our home-cooked meal was: chicken cacciatore, rice, green bean and onion casserole, seasoned corn, and fresh fruit salad. We provided about 80 servings between in-person, second helpings, and carry-out dinners. |
New Year's Eve at Sedona Winds Assisted Living December 31, 2023 |
The New Year’s Eve Celebration at Sedona Winds was a big success! Thanks to The Sedona Women, SedonaKind members, and some significant others, the residents of Sedona Winds assisted living enjoyed quite a New Year’s Eve party. Volunteers served desserts and champagne and sang and danced with the residents. Everyone had a wonderful evening. |
Turkey Giveaway November 21, 2023 On November 21st, The Sedona Women enjoyed helping over 250 families fill shopping carts to the brim with turkey, sides and pie as part of the Old Town Mission's annual Great Turkey Giveaway. There were smiles all-around as many families left with enough food for the week. |
Coat Drive November 2023 Thank you to all who donated coats at the November meeting. Fifty coats were given to the Sedona Area Food Bank for distribution throughout the cold months to those in need. Blanket Bee October 26, 2023 The Blanket Bee was a huge success! Lots of food, fun and companionship made it easy for volunteers to spend the afternoon tying lots of fleece blankets together for children in need. Twenty blankets were completed, and will be distributed along with others completed earlier this year to children this fall and winter through Old Town Mission in Cottonwood. |
St. Andrews Church Community Dinner October 23, 2023 The Sedona Women had 13 volunteers who prepared and cooked chicken a la king, seasoned corn, baked potato, wedge salad, and fruit salad. We served about 80 meals consisting of first and second servings to in-person guests plus many takeaway meals. TSW received many compliments from the guests for a delicious home cooked meal. Many of our volunteers are repeat workers. We have a lot of fun during this much appreciated community event. Our next dinner is January 15, 2024. |

Oak Creek Cleanup October 10, 2023 Under the leadership of the Oak Creek Watershed Council, thirteen Sedona Women and one spouse picked up 40 pounds of trash from the banks of Oak Creek near the Baldwin Trail. Thanks to all these wonderful volunteers our Oak Creek is a more beautiful and cleaner place. |
