  • Creative Life Center

Cathleen Banister tells the story of her late father, John Cornelius, who was a 1st Lieutenant in WWII and served in Italy and North Africa. John started a local fundraiser with the help of golfers Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson and philanthropist George Randolph Hearst, Jr., raising over $260,000 for Prescott's Veterans Hospital. Included in this program is Phong Vu, a member of the Rotary Club of Sedona Village, who tells his impactful story about immigrating to the U.S. from Vietnam after escaping from the American Embassy's rooftop. Phong was an infantry officer with the U.S. Marine Corp and a chief engineer at Ford Motor Company. He managed the development of the most popular truck in America, the Ford F150. Phong talks about his mother, his own life and today's Vietnam.
