9/12 Safer for a Day: Situational Awareness and Mindful Safety — The September 2024 program features Larry Betz, who will present SAFER FOR A DAY: SITUATIONAL AWARENESS AND MINDFUL SAFETY. This presentation will focus on the critical skills of situational awareness, interpreting body language, and employing verbal de-escalation tactics to navigate challenging situations effectively. 10/10 Sedona Sister Cities Update — Chuck Marr, Judy Neiman, and other Sedona Sister Cities Board members will give an update on what’s happening with sister cities for Sedona in Poland and Canmore, Alberta, Canada. 11/14 TSW Salutes Local Veterans — The Sedona Women (TSW) are pleased to salute two of our local women veterans — Sedona Division Fire Chief Dori Booth and Sedona veteran and educator Sara McAtee. The panel discussion will be moderated by veteran and TSW member Camilla Ross in honor of National Veterans and Military Families Month. November is a time to recognize the sacrifices and contributions of veterans and military families to the nation's armed forces. 12/12 TSW Holiday Talent Search and Showcase — Celebrate the holiday season with a talent-filled variety show, sing-along, refreshments and surprises. 1/9 Starting the New Year Right — Putting Your House in Order — To start the new year, we are pleased to present the hows and whys of organization, and how our physical space is intimately connected to our consciousness and healthier living. Three organizational experts will present varied approaches to successful organization, including: the principles of Feng Shui; the practices and advantages of organized living; and how to purge your closet, and restyle your look for ease, beauty, and confidence. 2/13 TSW Celebrates Black History Month with Coral Evans, Past Mayor of Flagstaff — Coral Evans, Ph.D., is a small-business owner, author, and social entrepreneur, with over two decades of experience in community redevelopment, investment, and business. Coral is passionate about community and civic engagement. Her family has been in Arizona for six generations and has been an active part of the Flagstaff and greater Northern Arizona community since the early 1900s. Coral will be sharing her Flagstaff family history and her career. 3/13 From Awareness to Preparedness … Personal Wildfire Emergency Preparedness in the Verde Valley — The Sedona Women's March meeting will be chock-full of information to help us learn how to be better prepared for a wildfire emergency in our region. The program will be directed toward individual readiness, and will provide a basic primer on personal responsibility issues in order to be prepared. Representatives from the Arizona State Department of Forestry and Fire Management, the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, the Coconino County Emergency Response Team, the Sedona Fire District, which encompasses both Yavapai and Coconino Counties, and the Sedona Police Department will present guidelines, checklists and detailed individual preparedness information for our Verde Valley residents. 4/10 A Day Just for Me — This year's A Day Just for Me program features two options — choose either or both. Option 1 is a cooking class at the Sedona School of Culinary at Yavapai College. We will be divided into small groups that will create an appetizer, main course, sides, and dessert. Then we will come together to enjoy what we have created. Option 2 is a wine tasting at Cove Mesa Vineyard in Cornville. This is an opportunity to mingle, snack, and sample good wines. 5/8 Energy Healing Modalities and the Science Behind Them — This presentation will delve into the mechanisms behind energy healing and highlight some of the most effective treatments capable of addressing ailments that traditional science struggles to heal. |
