On November 10th, The Sedona Women program will wow you with stories of two local veterans, John Cornelius and Phong Vu. Come hear how John convinced golfers Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson and philanthropist George Randolph Hearst Jr. to start a Village of Oak Creek fundraiser that has, to date, raised over $250,000 for the VA Medical Center’s Guest Services Office serving the needs of disabled vets who stay at the Prescott facility. If that isn’t amazing enough, part two of the program will have you hanging on to your seats as former US Marine veteran Phong Vu transports you back to Vietnam in 1975, where he barely escapes the country from the US Embassy’s rooftop. Mr. Vu eventually becomes a chief engineer for Ford Motor Company, helping design the most popular truck in America, the F150 Ford pickup. His life following his miraculous escape is just as interesting as he navigates a new county and credits his mother for his success. Masks are required at this event from 10am – noon at the Creative Life Center at 333 Schnebly Hill Road.
